“He’s Done This Before”: Columbia’s Pedro Vega-Rivera Sparks Statewide Manhunt After Infant Abduction in York

YORK CITY, PA — November 13, 2025

Pedro Luis Vega-Rivera, 31, is no stranger to violence—and now, he’s no longer just a threat. He’s a fugitive.

On Wednesday evening, Vega-Rivera abducted his 6-month-old daughter, Amiyah Rivera, during a domestic dispute in York City. Police say he made verbal threats to harm the child, then fled in a black 2020 Nissan Altima, PA plate MRM 3747, sparking an endangered child alert and a full-scale search.

But this isn’t his first act of terror.

Vega-Rivera is a former resident of Columbia Borough, where he was charged with simple assault on March 1, 2024, after attacking his ex-girlfriend on Chestnut Street. According to Columbia Borough Police, he never showed up to court to face prosecution. That case remains open.

“He’s a repeat offender who’s escalated from assault to child endangerment,” said one Columbia resident. “We warned people. Now he’s taken a baby.”

The community is boiling. “You don’t just walk away from court and then snatch a child,” said another neighbor. “This man is dangerous, and he’s been allowed to roam free.”

Authorities believe Amiyah may be at special risk of harm or injury, and are urging anyone with information to call 911, or contact York City Police at 717-846-1234 or 717-854-5571.

Pedro Vega-Rivera is described as a white male, 31 years old, last seen in York around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. His history of violence, evasion, and now abduction has ignited a firestorm across York and Lancaster counties.

“This isn’t just criminal—it’s vile,” said a local activist. “We want justice. We want Amiyah safe. And we want Pedro behind bars.”
