Columbia, PA – The streets of Columbia, Pennsylvania, will come alive with vibrant colors, music, and community spirit as the town hosts its annual Mardi Gras Halloween Parade on Thursday, October 24th. This beloved event, organized by the Columbia Lions Club and the Sunsnappers, promises a night of festive fun for all ages.

This year’s parade theme, “Wide World of Sports,” will feature over 50 units, including local groups, school bands, and creative floats. The parade will step off at 7 p.m. from the Columbia Borough Fire Department at 10th and Manor Streets, winding its way through a 1.5-mile route that includes sections of Manor, South Fourth, Union, South Second, Locust, and South Sixth Streets.

Participants and spectators alike can look forward to a variety of performances and displays. From high school bands to elaborate floats, the parade will showcase the creativity and enthusiasm of Columbia’s residents. Judges will circulate throughout the parade, awarding cash prizes for the best entries.

The parade is not just about the spectacle; it’s a true community event. “It’s a fun time. There’s candy being thrown, and it’s just a fun opportunity to get out and enjoy yourself,” said John Meshey. The event draws a large crowd each year, with families and friends gathering to celebrate and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
