Because the speed limit didn’t move—but you did.
🚓 Traffic Court Was BUSY (Again)
If you felt a breeze this weekend, it might not have been the wind—it was half of Lancaster County flying through Columbia.
In what can only be described as “Operation: Everyone Was Speeding,” Columbia Borough Police and West Hempfield Township Police filed a mountain of traffic citations between April 16–19, 2026, almost all now awaiting plea before Magisterial District Judge Miles K. Bixler.
Highlights include (but are definitely not limited to):
- Mary Jane Culp (Lancaster) – Allegedly exceeded the speed limit in a residential district. (Yes, that name. No, not that Mary Jane.)
- Frederick L. McGinnis Jr. (Columbia) – Residential speeding.
- Carrie Dawn Squibbs (Wrightsville) – Speed limit ignored, citation remembered.
- Robert Allen Hoffmaster, Robert Allen Herman Jr., and Robert G. Tanner Jr. – Proof that “Robert” was having a fast weekend.
- Sage William Shuman, Zachary Frey, Elizabeth Morales, Christine M. Meley, Ron Andrew Zacha Bosley, Lindsay Rebecca Rhine, Jamie Nico Schwartzbeck – All cited for various versions of “maximum speed limits were apparently optional.”
Unofficial weekend stat:
✔️ Speed limits: multiple
❌ Observed speed limits: unclear
🛑 Honorable Mentions (Non-Speeding Edition)
- Veronica Neshell Hooper (Columbia) – One citation for speeding and one for operating a vehicle without a valid inspection. A true two-for-one special.
- Dur Mohammad Kamali (Mountville) – Charged with failure to properly use a child booster seat. This one’s not funny—buckle those kids properly.
- Jason D. Kilheffer (Manheim) – Stopping at an intersection… but not in a way that made anyone happy.
- Aiden F. Stoltzfus (Ephrata) – Did not obey a traffic control device. Stop signs remain undefeated.
👮 Non‑Traffic but Definitely Noted
- Eugenia Lynn Walker (Columbia) – Charged with harassment (course of conduct, no legitimate purpose). Awaiting plea.
- Georgette McGuire (Columbia) – Charged under animal control law for failure to properly restrain a dog. The leash law strikes again. 🐕
🏠 Landlord–Tenant Court: The Rent Is Still Due Edition
Eviction and possession cases filled the docket, featuring landlords like Peaceful Homes, MKM Real Estate, and Featherton Crossing Apartments, filing against multiple Columbia-area residents.
Upcoming Recovery of Real Property Hearings are scheduled for May 1, 2026, starting at 9:00 a.m. and continuing like a well-organized but unfortunate parade.
Notable filings include:
- Peaceful Homes v. sabrerica Thomas & Jordan Walton – $2,746.96 claimed
- Peaceful Homes v. Daeshawn Mcilwain – $945.30
- Peaceful Homes v. Deshawn Nesbitt – $1,058.15
- Edwin Daughenbaugh Jr. v. Jack Peters – $4,218.00
- Alan H. Cherkin v. Michael & Stacey Garrett – $2,904.75
All cases are active unless noted otherwise. No judgments reported yet.
🤔 Weekend Takeaway
- Columbia drivers: please meet the speed limit—it’s very tired of being ignored.
- Dogs: leash them.
- Renters & landlords: see you May 1.
- Stop signs: still winning.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise.
