COLUMBIA, PA — The Borough of Columbia has announced the cancellation of the Columbia Borough Council meeting that was scheduled for Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
According to Borough Manager Jack R. Brommer, the meeting has been canceled because an unusually large number of attendees were expected, exceeding the capacity of the Borough Council chambers.
Borough officials said they received late notice regarding the anticipated increase in attendance and were unable to meet legal requirements to properly advertise a change of meeting location in the newspaper prior to the meeting.
“The Borough Council chambers cannot properly accommodate the expected attendance,” Brommer explained in the cancellation notice.
Residents interested in attending upcoming council discussions will have another opportunity next week. The Borough is planning to move the Tuesday, July 14, 2026, Council meeting, scheduled for 7:00 p.m., to a larger venue capable of accommodating more residents and visitors.
Information regarding the new meeting location will be announced in advance through the Borough’s social media channels and published in the Lancaster Newspaper.
The Borough encourages residents to watch for updates as details regarding the new venue become available.
